The Queensland government has extended the period for new home and investment property buyers to take advantage of its building grant of $10,000. This applies for anyone building a new property (or buying one that is newly built) valued less than $600,000 in Queensland.
The extension takes the period of eligibility for the building grant to , before 30 April 2012.
This grant is in addition to and distinct from the Federal government’s existing First Home Owner Grant of $7,000.
In the case of a First Homebuyer building their first home, or buying a new home, your government grants total is $17,000, up until 30 April 2012.
To be eligible one of the buyers involved in the transaction needs to be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or if the purchase is by a company or trust that is substantially Australian owned.
